I know I’ve already said a lot here, but one more suggestion, and this one is plain common sense. If you have to put your vacuum bag in the freezer to kill the trapped fleas, put it inside a trash bag first and tie it closed good and tight. The trash bag will keep the dust (and dead fleas, uck!) off your food. Personally, I wouldn’t even do that. Seal it in a plastic bag and put it out with the trash. I can’t even describe how bad the thought of dead fleas in my freezer grosses me out! YUCK!

I don’t think this cat is doped. Some are tolerant to water and handling, and any cat will be calmer if the water (and the room) is at a comfortable temperature. As for the crossed eyes, many cats, my own included, go cross-eyed when they’re stressed. It liooks comical, but when you see this, you may want to ease up and take a moment to just pet the cat a bit and talk to her a little. That seems to help with my own critter.

To keep Kitty warmer during drying and to dry her more thoroughly, use a hair dryer. It’s best to use one that’s not too noisy, as the noise can make a cat nervous. Also, make sure it has a trigger or button that shuts off the heat You may have to keep a hold on your cat while you dry her because some cats don’t like having air blowing at them. Even if she sits still, keep a hand in the air stream. When it feels like it’s getting too warm, cut the heat, but don’t let it get too cold, either.

Most experts say to use ‘tepid’ or ‘lukewarm’ water to bathe a cat. I used to do that. But during one bath, I put my struggling cat under the tap to rinse and the stream from the tap was warmer than the bath. She stopped fighting instantly. Seems “lukewarm’ wasn’t warm enough. Ever since, I use much warmer water on her, and she takes it better. Try using water closer to the temp you would bathe yourself in. That is, unless you take exceptionally hot baths…

Not all cats give them selfs baths, and even when they do they dont do that graet of a god. Thats the only way I can get rid of all the fleas on my cat. Advantage *****. Great video!

It takes a while for a cat to get to the point of being in danger of dying of bloodloss, and the infestation has to get pretty serious. There is no way that a person who is owned by a cat wouldn’t notice a problem like that, considering that having a cat with an infestation that bad in the home would have the people getting bitten pretty badly. You would also be able to see bugs jumping about and crowding around the eyes and ears, thin-skinned, blood rich areas easily pierced by fleas.

Hint: Clip cats nails before you try this….

My thoughts exactly – I’ve been killing my back in the tub all this time! Glad to know I’m not the only one. LOL!

Excuse me, you must NOT bath your cat to kill fleas. Most cats are unhappy in water. There are many contact poison against fleas available at your local vet. Many shampoos dries the skin of your cat.
Please don´t hear at this. I think it´s a production to promote shitty cat shampoos. If a cat want a bath, she takes itself.

Thats great that you can give your cat a bath like that without much trouble.
Here’s another great and cheap way to prevent not just your cat, but your dogs too, of ever getting fleas again. Add about 4 tablespoons of white organic vinegar to 1 gallon of their drinking water. Keep them drinking that water vinegar mixture and fleas will eventually disappear and you’ll never have to worry about them again.

Why didn’t I think of bathing them in the sink! *smacks head*
haha!
I feel like such a dork– it would keep them from freaking out at the sound of water too— and maybe, just maybe- the will associate counter top/ sink with B-A-T-H and stay off!
And using the cat carrier while the suds soak in– great tips! I am dealing with fleas on my kitties for the first time (in my life!), and this video was very helpful. Thanks!

Wow, that is one extremely tolerant cat. When my cats feel water they try to TAKE OFF.
December 15th, 2009 at 5:56 am
mine too. i bought a flea collar though.
December 16th, 2009 at 8:54 am
my kitten jumps out tho? so what do i do?
December 16th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Omg stop using it and take the cat to the vet! X_X That is a BAD sign. And never use a flea medicine unless your vet says so.Different cats have different tolerances to them and some are more susceptible than others.
December 19th, 2009 at 6:17 am
Take your cats to the vet. They will treat hem propely because if you let it go on they can die from bloodloss! And if your vet refuses, find a better vet!!

That cat has to be doped up,my cat would rip my face off!!!
December 20th, 2009 at 4:44 pm
Very patient cat…
I think my cat would try to rip my arm off if I tried to give it a bath.

put a vacuum bag in the freezer for days ???????? is she nuts ?
December 24th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
you can get things called ‘frontline’ which are tiny vials of flea stuff. You put the drops on the back of their neck, onto the skin (about two drops). You just have to hold them still while you do that. That kills any fleas that go on the cat for a few months
That’s what we had to do. hope this helps

What a well behaved cat! Unbelievable. How many cats allow you to bath them? Most of them are **** scared of water! My cat is a bit of a nutter so If I tried bathing her she’d have my hand off I can tell you!
December 28th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
I love cats and i have a question, i tryed flea collars, and some of my cats died, the vet said there not good, and my cats are scared of water, so i cant bath them, so in the meantime, my cats are getting bit badly, bygetting bald spots that bleed, so how can i treat my cats, safely, help, i need your advice.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:22 am
Toxic products are not good for animals, apple cider vinegar works very well to kill fleas. Frontline & Advantage have many class action law suit because many cats died as a result of the poison, is not a good idea to poison your cat
